FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Things people usually ask before booking

  • Therapy helps you understand your patterns and process what happened. Door Number Three modalities change the patterns at the source — where they were originally installed. Many clients work with a therapist and one of our practitioners at the same time and find the two approaches deepen each other. They're not competing. They work at different levels.

  • That's a fair question. Therapy through insurance is genuinely valuable and these practitioners aren't here to replace it. What this work does is different — it operates at a level that talk therapy typically doesn't reach, which is why many clients do both. At the rates practitioners charge here, adding this alongside therapy is accessible for most people.

  • If you're in active crisis, managing a mental health emergency, or in the early stages of processing acute trauma, traditional talk therapy with a licensed therapist is the right first step. Door Number Three practitioners do not diagnose or treat clinical conditions — we're not a substitute for licensed mental health care. If you're stable and somewhere inside there's a readiness — a sense that something could shift — that's enough.

  • You stay fully present and aware throughout every session. This isn't hypnosis and nothing happens without your knowing or participation. You're in the driver's seat the whole time. What changes is that your brain gets to update information it's been holding since early in your life — with your conscious awareness, not around it.

  • Rates are shown per hour. Your first session runs up to two hours, follow-up sessions are one to two hours depending on what you're working on. A single session is betwen $35 - 125 for a one-hour session and between $70-$250 for a two-hour session.

  • We're in a Friends & Family Early Access phase as we are building our practice within a trusted community. We're introducing an alternative in a world where the primary options are therapy or coaching. In this early access phase, you get access to seriously trained practitioners at rates that reflect the community, not the market.

  • That's okay and it happens. Reach out to us directly and we'll help you find someone who's a better fit. We have a diverse team of practitioners and we are here to work with our clients and help them find the right person — not just the first available one.

  • Some people notice a meaningful shift in their first session. For specific, contained patterns, two or three sessions is common. For layered or longstanding patterns — working with a practitioner over several months is where the deeper change happens. Your practitioner can share with you after the first session about what makes sense for your situation.

  • Not at all. Your friend probably told you enough. The rest becomes clear in the first session. Practitioners are used to working with people who are new to this — most clients arrive exactly the same way you did.

  • Yes. All sessions are over Zoom, which means practitioners work with clients across the US, India, Europe, and beyond. Our practitioners are also located around the world. You just need a laptop or desktop, a stable internet connection, and a private space.
